The True God
We believe that there is one, and only one, true and living God; that He is omnipotent, omniscient, immutable, and infinitely Holy; that He exists eternally in three persons; the Father; Son, and Holy Spirit; and that these three, though One, are yet three distinct persons and are equal in every divine perfection. Genesis 17:1, Deuteronomy 4:35; Isaiah 44:6, Psalm 139:1-7; 99:9; 1 John 5:5-7.
Jesus Christ
His Identity: We believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God who exists eternally with God; that He is the only Saviour of the world, sent by His Father into the world to redeem the world.
His Incarnation: We believe that He took upon Himself flesh and dwelt among men here on this earth; that He was at the same time both God and man. John 1:14; Philippians 2:5-7; 1 Timothy 3:16.
His Virgin Birth: We believe that He came to the earth in the flesh by way of the virgin birth, born of a woman who had never been sexually intimate with man; therefore He had no earthly father, but was conceived in the womb of this virgin by the Holy Spirit. Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18-23.
His Death: We believe that He died by way of crucifixion on the cross at a place called Calvary. We believe that He died as man’s substitute, suffering the full wrath of God, and thereby He paid the penalty of sin. Matthew 27:33-54; 1 Corinthians 15:3.
His Blood: We believe that His blood which He shed in death at Calvary, is the only Atonement for the sins of man, and that it is sufficient to wash away the sins of every person, and that apart from His shed blood, there could be no remission of sins. Hebrews 9:22; Ephesians 1:7; 1 John 1:7.
His Resurrection: We believe that He arose bodily from the tomb, and through this resurrection a sure hope of immortality and everlasting life is given to all who have been saved by Him. Luke 24:1-7, 1 Corinthians 15:4; Romans 4:25.
His Ascension: We believe that He ascended back into Heaven from whence He came and is now at the right hand of the Father, carrying on His ministry of intercession for the saints. Luke 24:50-51; Acts 2:31-33; Hebrews 7:25; 12:2; 1 John 2:1.
His Second Coming: We believe that there will be a personal and visible return of this same Jesus in like manner as He ascended back into Heaven; that, in fulfillment of His own promise, He will return for his own, to receive them unto Himself; that He will then later return again with His own and set up His Kingdom on earth where He will rule for the period of a thousand years, this time being known as the Millennium, thus making His second coming premillennial. John 14:3; Acts 1:10-11; Revelation 19:11-16; 20:4-6. The rapture of the Church of Jesus Christ will precede His second coming by 7 years of great tribulation. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 1 Corinthians 15:51-52.
The Holy Spirit
We believe that Holy Spirit is the Third Person of the Holy Trinity and not an abstract power or influence; that He is sent into the world to convict men of sin, regenerate the believing sinner through a born again experience, and to seal the believer unto the day of redemption. Matthew 28:19; John 16:7-14; Ephesians 1:13; 4:30.
The Scriptures
We believe that the Bible is the divinely inspired word of God, written by holy men of God as they were moved by the Holy Ghost; that it does not merely contain the Truth, but is the Truth, and thereby the standard by which all truth must be tested. We believe that God has promised to preserve His word and that the preserved word of God in English is the A.V. 1611, King James Version of the Bible; therefore no other English translation (RSV, NIV, NASV, etc.) will be considered as scripture. 2 Timothy 3:15-16; Psalm 12:6-7; 2 Peter 1:21; John 17:17.
Man
We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God, but that he fell from his perfect state by voluntary disobedience; that since that first transgression all men are born in sin and have a depraved nature, utterly lacking the holiness required by the law of God; that man is a sinner by nature, choice and practice, and is therefore under just condemnation, without defense or excuse. Genesis 1:26-27; 2:17; 3:1-6; Romans 5:12; Psalm 51:5.
The Way of Salvation
We believe that the only way man can be saved from eternal damnation is by truly repenting of his sin and trusting Jesus Christ, God’s Son, as his personal Lord and Saviour; that such an experience consummates the New Birth; he is transformed or regenerated by God’s Holy Spirit as he is born again and becomes a true child of God; that this great salvation is wholly by the grace of God, a free gift of God’s love and cannot be obtained by any good works or deeds of men. We further believe that since salvation is by God’s grace alone, when it comes to the individual heart, it is theirs for time and eternity. The true child of God is eternally secure in God’s hands; he is kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation. Luke 13:3; John 1:12; Acts 4:12; 16:31; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5; John 5:24; 1 Peter 1:3-5.
The Church
Mystery Form: We believe that the true church is the union of all born again believers, who in their unity compose the body of Christ, with Christ Himself as its Head. 1 Corinthians 12:13; Ephesians 3:3-11; 5:32; 1:20-22; 5:23-24.
Local: We believe the local church is an assembly of believers, associated by the covenant in the faith and fellowship of the Gospel; observing the ordinances of Christ; governed by His laws; and exercising the gifts, rights and privileges invested in them by His Word. 11 Corinthians 1:1, Galatians 1:2; Acts 5:11.
Church Ordinances
We believe that the ordinances enjoined by the Gospel, given to the church by Christ and to be observed by the church are baptism and the Lord’s Supper. We believe these are the only two ordinances given to the church by the authority of Jesus Christ. Placing ourselves under His authority, and the authority of the word of God, we therefore honor and observe these two ordinances. Matthew 28:19; 26:26-29; Luke 22:17-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-30.
Baptism: We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion in water of one who has truly had a personal, saving experience with Christ; that it symbolizes the believer being buried with Christ and raised to walk in newness of life; that this ordinance must be administered in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
The Lord’s Supper: We believe the Lord’s Supper is to be open and observed by those who have been truly saved by Christ, and is to be observed only after a solemn self-examination; that it is a commemoration of the sacrificial death of our Loving Lord, the bread symbolizing His broken body and the juice of grapes symbolizing His shed blood. These being taken together; show forth His death until He comes again.
The World to Come
We believe that the end of this present world will come by fire and the world to come will be eternal; that in the world to come there will be two eternal places; a place of endless joy for all the people of God who have been saved by His grace; and a place of endless punishment for all who have never been reconciled to God by the blood of Jesus Christ.
Heaven: A place of beauty and joy, wherein dwelleth righteousness, where God will dwell with His people forever. 11 Corinthians 12:2-4; 5:1; 1 Peter 1:3-5 Revelation 21-22.
Hell: A place of ceaseless torment, characterized by fire and brimstone, a place where all who have not accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour will suffer forever. Luke 16:19-31; Matthew 5:22, 29-30; 23:33; Revelation 21:8.
The Devil
We believe in the personality of Satan, that he is not merely an abstract power or influence, but a living personal being; that he is the god of this world and the prince of the power of the air; that he is constantly going up and down in the earth seeking whom he may devour. John 8:44; 2 Corinthians 4:4; Ephesians 2:2; 1 Peter 5:8.
The Christian Walk
We believe that a person, once he has truly accepted Christ as Saviour, is a new creature in Christ and that he should live a holy, consecrated life; that he should separate himself from the world in obedience to the command of God. Colossians 2:6; 1 Peter 2:9; 2 Corinthians 5:17; 6:17-18; 1 John 2:15; 2 Timothy 2:19.
Judgment
We believe that everyone, saved and unsaved, shall face God in judgment. According to the word of God, the judgment of the saved will be a separate and distinct judgment from the judgment of the unsaved.
Judgment of Christians: This judgment is known as the Judgment Seat of Christ. Christians at this time will be judged according to their works from the time they received Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour until the time they stand before him in judgment. They shall be rewarded or they shall suffer loss according as their works shall be. 2 Corinthians 5:10; 1 Corinthians 3:11-15.
Judgment of the Unsaved: This judgment is known as the Great White Throne Judgment. All unsaved shall at this time be judged according to their works and cast into the lake of fire to suffer forever according as their works shall be.
Marriage
The institution of marriage is ordained of God and according to scripture it is the union of one man and one woman. Genesis 2:18-25; Ephesians 5:22-33; Colossians 3:18-19; 1 Peter 3:1-7.
